This paper tries to convey to its readers certain methodological and technical characteristics to be taken into account in psychoanalytical work with children. The author shows the complexities that the analyst has to face from a theoretical and technical point of view as well as in the transference in psychoanalytical work. The use given to theories that describe psychic functioning, the space given to parents’ narrative, the analytic situation as a field for observation of what goes on while playing are subjects posed in the paper. Using as examples a popular tale and the clinical material from one week sessions of the analysis of a seven-year-old girl, the author gives examples of her theoretical approach.
