First-world societies are subject to a growing aging process. This raises problems with regard to the sustainability of the pension system and, at the same time, generates problems of poor or inadequate treatment of elderly people’s needs. This article shows the results of a study made by Xarxabaix’s collaborators, a meeting and experiential exchange space of professionals from the Baix Llobregat región, located near Barcelona. The study was carried out following a qualitative methodology through focal groups formed by professionals from the Baix Llobregat district as well as representatives of the Consultative Council of the Elderly, political representatives and media professionals. The creation of a specific device for the care of the elderly and the design of an inter-information and inter-service information transfer system are two of the main conclusions of the study.
