In May 2015 the Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) handling Protocol for children and youth, was published in the Catalan Health System. We, as professionals of different disciplines attending children and youth suffering from the symptomatology described for this disorder, are aware of the controversy generated. For this reason we want to point out on this document some thoughts arisen from an in-depth reading of this protocol. From a psychodynamic approach, we aim to contribute with integrated points of view that allow us to go forward in order to tackle this symptomatology and not to fall in a reductionism that impoverishes the understanding and treatment of ADHD.
