Postmodern scientific progress has not resulted in a dominion over nature, neither in social progress: risk society prevails. Individuals lack traditional behavioral guidelines; they must live for the moment, facing an uncertain future. We coexist in a new world order, forced to choose on our own among multiple offers and options: fear arises from anything. Although danger signs may not be perceived, individuals must elaborate their own survival strategy. Self-isolation, difficulties when dealing with the feelings towards others, fragile narcissism, and frequent depression, are the overall result.
