Some clinical reflections from the concepts of transitional space and object and false self

Abstract

According to some thoughts developed by Winnicott about transitional space, transitional object and false self, the author writes about their interrelation and their importance for symbol formation, individuation, self-object differentiation and the «as if» pathologies. Finally he presents a clinical example in order to illustrate some of these concepts in clinical practice.
