This paper focuses upon the mistake of replacing sex by gender from the viewpoint of the struggle for the equal rights of men and women. Unlike sex, the category of gender is fuzzy, hard to explain and so broad in its meaning that misses the expressive thrust of sex. Sex was never only biology, as it looks like to gender defenders. Neither socio nor bio nor innate tabula rasa, but nature via nurture. To Freud sex was body plus identification plus object election, thus encompassing as much sociology as biology in their long and Darwinian interaction.
